with a long quiet breath, I can feel my connection to the earth and hear the beautiful song of life.

Forever a student, I love to learn through experimentation and play. I read a lot, but there is no substitute for getting my hands dirty.

Having obtained a degree in ceramics, I found my way into graphic design, hoping I could merge my love for creating with my need for a successful a career. I discovered that I loved all the new skills and learning I was soaking up from other designers and art directors. Eventually, I landed a wonderful job that combined my design skills with my artistic talent. I began to design and illustrate projects for people to make at home—inspiring them and challenging their skills.

The freedom I was given was tremendous— I was pushed to learn and grow every day. I started taking some of this artistic growth home and applying it to my own art. My desire was to begin painting again, a process put on hold many years ago while other mediums and priorities took center stage.

I made space… and dove in. The process was daunting, I felt as if I was back at square one, completely unsure of how to move forward. And so I just showed up in my studio. I tried new things—new papers, new brushes, new colors. I saw what I liked and moved forward, even though I had no idea where to go.

By taking these simple steps my life began to change and open up—I saw how little shifts were causing big changes. As I reflected on my journey of reconnecting to my art, a friend introduced me to the process of life coaching. I wondered how I could apply it to the artistic process, using art as a tool for self-discovery. A way for people to find and claim their own creative spirit—to make not just art—but to create a life that feeds their heart and expresses their purpose.

With my coaching certification in hand, I began to dig even deeper into the connection between our physical and emotional selves. I wanted to discover how the physical body may also need to be addressed as new lessons are learned and the mind gains awareness. I decided to enroll in massage school to integrate coaching and bodywork together. With this knowledge, I hope to bring together the mental and physical aspects by recognizing their symbiotic relationship and giving space for both to flourish and grow.
